School's out for Summer! Kind of...

One complete week off... 1. Relaxing recoup at Auntie/Uncles Cabin. 2. Grandmas Marathon and Josh/Jen's new house, good friends, good times. 3. ALL FANTASTIC.
Well, Here's how two weeks ended (the pics are in reverse and I really
don't want to rearrange them to be in the correct order).
What a crew. Kyle...

Up to Lutsen for closing weekend!

A year since our last post! Wow, well here we are where we left off... kind of.

Eagle Mt. is the highest point in MN, at a whopping 2301 ft! We snowshoed about 7 miles round trip, for it being the 2nd week in April we were surprised at the 2-3ft of snow still on the ground!

I would highly recommend this hike to anyone up in the Lutsen/Grand Marais area.

Solbakken was the choice for lodging, with icebergs abound, Kenya was having a nice time swimming in Lake Superior! As usual, she wasn't phased a bit.

The final day of Lutsen being open... warm temps, slushy snow, 1/2 price, good times!

Skiing in Mid-May. Flattops Wilderness Area

Here we are up at West Elk, the snow is tapering off but we'd guess there is a good foot in most places facing North.
ahhh... a nice campfire with some good food cookin'. Doesn't get much better.
We snowshoed up the real steep stuff. This is looking North into the Flattops Wilderness. I'd say we're at about 9500 ft. in elevation.
workin' hard to elevate!
Kenya usually leads the way!

Callie often found her way into the bare tree wells.

Just having a little fun

Not sure if XC Skiis are made for this!?!

a clean landing!

An example of Southern exposure...

We both fell a lot this day. The snow was tricky.. it was about 60 degrees air temp.

what a great way to end it! Goodbye!
