Our "Regular" Saturday Fun
Here's our 'normal' Saturday since we have been out here... seems like we always find ourselves in Carbondale (Callie likes the long, flat, running paths, and I like the mountain bike trail) for the day. Its only about 20 miles from New Castle.
Kenya is already pulling Callie, which she probably did for the next 9.1 miles of their run.

This is the Red Hill Mountain Bike Trails. It seems to be the premier mountain biking location in our area, I've learned to like... and to dislike this trail for many reasons. There are a ton of tough uphill rock steps and gardens, and lots of fun drops coming back downhill.

Because I was late to meet Callie from her run I tried to cut through the forest, I ended up with tires full of Cactus (luckily no flat tire), I wasn't up for taking photos at that point.

This is the roaring fork river, its awesome. Blue ribbon trout waters, even though I only caught 1 trout, it's great. Callie can usually find a nice place to get sunburned and read her book. The dog just runs back and forth between us. She goes nuts.

Back in Carbondale we hung out at the Blue, Brews, and Barbecues Festival. Kenya was lucky, all of the chef's were happy to 'toss her a bone'.
The drive home is always spectacular as well. The mountain in the rear view mirror is Mt. Sopris (12,000+ ft.) and the valley ahead is Glenwood and New Castle. We miss ya all and hope you can join us in a fun filled Saturday soon! I'm sure Callie and Kenya wouldn't make you run 9 miles, and I will not make you go on the mountain bike trail. But there are plenty of brews and barbecues to go around! Oh and happy Birthday to Callie today!
