First Impressions of our New Home!

As some of you may know, we've accepted jobs in Rifle, Colorado. Over Memorial weekend we drove out to sight-see and decide on an area to settle.

There are basically three areas for us to choose from; Glenwood Springs, New Castle, and Rifle. Callie instantly fell in love with New Castle, given the over-abundance of running trails throughout the community. After visiting I have a few reasons to be excited as well, Lakota Canyon Ranch Golf Course, Biking trails right up into the mountains, and many opportunities for fly fishing nearby!

Here is our first attempt at purchasing a townhome;

1. We see it on the market

2. We get prepared to take a tour

3. Before the "for sale" sign has a

chance to make it in the lawn....

4. It sold to someone else.

5. Here's the house we wanted... :(

... and so goes the battle for finding a home!

We also took some time to check out other areas, Mt Sopris is only 15 min south of Glenwood Springs. Only 25 more minutes will put you right in Aspen!

Besides a good layer of frost in the mornings, camping went well. We can't wait to get back and take full advantage of the opportunities we'll have.
